God is Personal!

Family is so important to God. That’s why He created us. He didn’t want slaves; someone who would just serve Him. He wanted family. He is Father.

See how great a love the Father has given us, that we would be called children of God; and in fact we are.
1 John 3:1a

He desires to spend time with us. He so wants to reveal Himself in a personal way.

Let me share a recent example of this. Mark and I were having dinner with new friends in Florida last night and Mark shared his testimony of how the Lord changed his life in Switzerland on a ministry trip. It is quite a testimony. The just of it is when asked to go on the trip Mark’s response was “No, it’s the same weekend as deer hunting opener and that is too important to miss.” But God changed his mind and he ended up going. He forgot to share the part about when he finally sacrificing deer hunting opener and said yes to going, God revealed to him the next day that Minnesota had moved the opener a week later that year and he wouldn’t miss the opener anyway. This was a BIG DEAL! My husband eats, sleeps and dreams deer hunting. He knows all the rules and regulations and prepares all year long for it. So this morning I texted my friend the rest of the story and said “That was a total God thing. It was like when God gave Abraham a goat to sacrifice instead of his son only after he was willing to sacrifice him.”

I hit “send” and I proceeded to pray and spend time with the Lord. I asked Him to give me wisdom and speak revelations to me in His Word. Then I went to the list of scriptures I am studying that were provided to me by a class I am taking right now with Kingdom Foundations. The scripture for today is Genesis 22:14 but I am going to reference 13 and 14.

Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by its horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering in the place of his son. 14 And Abraham named that place The Lord Will Provide, as it is said to this day, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

Come on! It still amazes me when God reveals Himself so personally. Siri or Alexa have nothing on our God. He hears our thoughts and words and sees our actions. He wants to show us how personal He is. He wants to walk with us like He did Adam and Eve in the garden.

I share this not for my glory – but for His! What He’ll do for one He will do for another! He loves you so! Sit with Him and let Him show you!
