It is time to bring more fun into your home! Last week was extra busy and full. My work often overflowed into the evenings. I decided on Friday to pause right before the kids came home and set up a surprise tea party for them. Tea parties are one of my kids’ favorite activities to do with me! They love picking out the finger food snacks and treats for the table, so all I had to do to surprise them was put out the cups and prep the drink.
My son came in first because he likes to run from the bus stop! Upon seeing the table, he yelled out the door to my daughter, “We are having a tea party!”
These tea parties are truly nothing complex. We drink tea or hot cacao, put out treats from the cupboard, and play fun music. This little activity together builds memories and connections with my kids. Fun is so important for not only our children but also for us as parents. A lot in life is heavy and full of pressure.
